CulturePolis

CulturePolis is a Civil Society Organization based in Corfu Island, Greece, since 2006, which aims to highlight, promote, and sustainability manage cultural heritage, especially in Corfu. It is also active in the promotion of arts and cultural and creative entrepreneurship, in the development of intercultural dialogue as well as awareness raising and training of stakeholders on sustainability and social innovation. CulturePolis achieves these ambitious goals mainly through national, European, and international competitive funding programs by implementing projects as lead or project partner. The focus is mainly on Heritage Management, Cultural and Creative Industries -CCI’s, innovative cultural tourism products, innovative artists’ platforms, Civil Society and Youth, and Social Inclusion including the promotion of Accessibility in culture. It mainly operates in Europe, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean Basin and participates in international networks while being at the same time a hosting structure for specialized initiatives. In this context the "Centre of Greek and Arabic Literature and Culture - K.EL.A.L.P." was created in 2020. The purpose of this new initiative is to launch actions to understand the "other" through culture and literature. It is an open attempt to analyze and study the relations and interactions between Greek and Arabic cultures mainly through scientifically translated Arabic literature and without influences from political, religious aspirations and other experiences. Its main activities include open events, workshops, the creation of a digital book club, etc.
